The overwhelming weight of evidence supplied by educational research and backed by teachers is that high expectations produce higher standards from students in schoolwork, behaviour, manners and appearance. At Beverley High School we encourage high standards from all students and aim to be positive both in comments and giving of praise.RewardsRewards, praise and encouragement are amongst the most powerful aids to teaching; maintaining high standards of behaviour and fostering a positive school ethos. At Beverley High School we strive to praise students’ efforts whenever possible. This may be during lessons, when marking exercise books or other assessments and around the school site. Research shows that the most effective positive behaviour modification occurs when the praise to rebuke ratio is in excess of 3:1 for both learning and behaviour. We try to ensure that all hard working students are recognised for their efforts. In September 2014 we introduced a new rewards system to Beverley High School. Vivos are a points based system that allows students to accumulate points based on their work and behaviour. All staff are allocated vivos to distribute using the on-line website. Students can then use their points to spend in an online shop. the more points you earn the more you can spend! there is also the possibility of spending any of your points on charity donations. All students are given their own unique log-in for the website and can access it from any computer/tablet/mobile device to check their account. To access the student website please clickhttps://www.vivoedge.com/#/To access the teacher website pleae clickhttps://www.vivoclass.com/
