Sensory small group travel for blind, low vision and deaf travellers!At Cocky Guides, we specialise in providing unique, multi-sensory adventures in small groups for the blind and low-vision community, as well as dedicated tours with an Auslan Interpreter for deaf travellers or those that sign. It’s our number one priority to make sure you feel comfortable, supported and included. Hundreds of Australians have experienced Cocky Guides engaging and accessible day trips, short breaks and road trips to more than 30 destinations across Australia.For our blind and low vision travellers, each adventure is designed for those who are active and competent with mobility using either cane, guide dog or a companion as a sighted guide. Our trip leaders provide vocal instruction to assist navigate between one and six travellers in areas we know really well. For technical navigation, like stairs or narrow environments, we may travel one at a time with our trip leader providing one on one assistance when requested.Need a little more help with mobility?We offer great companion rates on most adventures and also accept the Companion Card on select trip styles. If you require a dedicated trip leader to act as your sighted guide for all or part of any tour, an individual quote can be provided.All our transport, accommodation, activity and hospitality partners are proud to assist us to deliver our adventures for our travellers and welcome Guide Dogs. Take your pick of our scheduled trips, which are all custom-designed to stir your emotions and senses. Alternatively, we can run most trips on the day of your choice for groups of 4 or more travellers booking together.We have implemented a range of enhanced COVID safe processes and a flexible Cancellation Policy. Travellers who join a Cocky Guides adventure for the first time quickly find that many of their fellow travellers have travelled with us before, returning to discover destinations with us time and time again. To show our appreciation for such loyalty, we created Gold Crest Explorer, a recognition program for our most frequent travellers. Your benefits begin once you have travelled with us for 5 days and registered on Team App, that’s when you’ve earned membership and recognition at the Bronze level. To reach Silver, you’ll need to travel with us a further 10 days, which is a combined total of 15 days. Our highest level of recognition is Gold, which is achieved after a combined total of 35 days.
