The teachings of Mahatma Gandhi regarding non-violence, untouchability, simple living and high thinking, treating the whole world as a family, struggle for the upliftment of the oppressed and downtrodden, relevance of small, rural and cottage industries and, above all, respect for the self and the humanity et-large have become more relevant in the present scenario. How Gandhi practically demonstrated that way life should be lived can amply be demonstrated by taking cues from what he taught through Salt Satyagraha, Dandi March, Asahayog Andolan, Choura Chauri agitation, Farmers agitation, struggle in Africa, relations with sons and his wife Kasturba, Round table conference, vegetarianism, Sandhya Sabha meetings, Congress Party intrigues, relations with Lord Mountbatten, role in the Partition of India, relations with Lal, Bal, Pal and Nehru.Above all, Gandhi was a guide, philosopher and leader par excellence with unmatched characteristics of tolerance, patience and perseverance that the present day world needed to grow and live with central idea of “Sarva Jan Hitai, Sarva Jan Sukhai” i.e. a growth strategy that thinks of the marginalised and poorest sections of the society. The serial will let the new generation of the world know Gandhi in an altogether different perspective, something we seems to be forgetting in this highly materialistic world with our value system taking a heavy toll.Let the youth of world be aware of how approximately 50 years a man was on the streets to emancipate India and taught the world of how one can win over even the most ferocious adversary with non-violence.
