Beer of the Month: Entrepid Brewing Pacer - The Brewmistress
Towards the end of 2020, someone suggested that I do a beer of the month post, picking a beer that stood out for me each month. And as I am just powering right through my November 2020 to do list, I thought I’d get right on that.

Afro-Caribbean Brewing Co launches new beer - The Brewmistress
I suppose it had to happen. Those of you who know Greg Casey, the madcap brewer behind Afro-Caribbean Brewing Company, might know that he’s a bit of a fan of Rogue Ales. Most likely inspired by their Beard Beer, which was fermented using natural yeast collected from the brewer’s facial hair, Greg has brewed a similarly ick-inducing concoction.

Beery Weekend Away: Whale Coast Brewing Company in Pearly Beach
The brewery. Whale Coast is a family-run brewpub set back from the beach itself. The idea to open a microbrewery occurred to co-founder Stavros Pastellides back in 2017 and after a local fact-finding mission, the equipment was ordered and shipped from China. And that’s where things halted, thanks to a three-year wait for the lliquor licence.

Seven tips for the 7th Cape Town Festival of Beer
It’s less than two weeks until one of my favourite weekends of the year. The last weekend in November marks the 7th annual Cape Town Festival of Beer and you should be attending. I’ve followed the fest from its first incursion (I like to think of it as the Black Label fest – there was a sole stall with southern Africa’s entire craft beer offering back then) through to the full-on ...

Father''s Day ideas for beer-loving dads - The Brewmistress
It could be a father and son/daughter date for a pint (assuming the son/daughter is over 18), or a pass for dad to go to the bar by himself. Best thing about it is right now it won’t cost you a cent, since he won’t be able to redeem it until restaurants and bars are allowed to open. Perfect if funds are particularly tight right now. Under R150
