WELCOME TO WAIRAU INTERMEDIATE SCHOOLPlease click on this link to access COVID 19 letters and updates: COVID-19 Updates 2022ENROLMENTS 2023The Enrolments section of our website (including the links to an updated prospectus and enrolment pack) is currently being updated.  Please see information below regarding our open days and evening and Year 6 transition days.Open Days / EveningParents / caregivers are invited to come along to visit our school on our Open Days being held on Wednesday 10 August and Thursday 11 August  between the hours of 9.00am and 3.00pm.  During this time parents/caregivers can observe a vibrant, interactive snapshot of the school in action.  Throughout the day, during school hours, individual/group tours of the school will be conducted by the Principal and Deputy Principal, and no appointment will be necessary.An Open Evening will be held on Thursday 11 August from 7.00pm-8.30pm commencing in the school hall.  Teachers and current pupils will be on hand to explain how the school functions and to show you around.Year 6 Transition DaysYear 6 students from our main contributing schools have been invited to visit our school on the following days:Wednesday 27 July, Forrest Hill SchoolThursday 28 July,  Sunnynook SchoolWednesday 3 August, Target Road SchoolStudents will be given a copy of our prospectus and enrolment pack on the day of their visit.If your child does not attend one of our main contributing schools and you would like them to have the opportunity of spending a whole day at Wairau Intermediate experiencing some of the subjects they will be studying in 2023, they would be most welcome to come along and join in on either:Wednesday 27 July orWednesday 3 August  Please phone the school secretary on 410 7805 so that this can be arranged in advance and the appropriate form completed.

Rewards - Wairau Intermediate

Wairau Intermediate has a High Fliers Club to reward all consistent achievers in the school. This is to encourage the children who always try their best, complete their homework, wear their uniform correctly, are courteous and considerate and work well with others.Students are nominated by their teachers; after three nominations they become members of the High Fliers Club. These children are recognised at assemblies and receive a membership badge and certificate. At the end of the year the names of all members go into a draw and the lucky five win a scenic helicopter flight over Auckland.
